We creatively engage with displaced communities in the UK and Overseas, many of whom have fled from war, forced labour and poverty.
We understand the power of creativity in improving wellbeing and boosting self esteem. Our partners have often experienced severe trauma and are welcomed into a safe and supportive environment to explore their creative potential through a sensitive and carefully delivered process. We invite communities to be a part of a series of specially designed creative sessions, discovering new paths of expression, improving community cohesion while learning valuable skills for the future.
This year Displace Yourself Theatre re-visited a stateless community situated on the Thai/ Myanmar boarder which we first met back in 2013, and who inspired the formation of DYT. Working closely with Baan Unrak Foundation and Children’s Home, we will continue to provide opportunities and connections with this community.
