Our February Creating Together gathering in Bradford was all about connection.
Spoken word artist, Masego Lynia, led our group through poetry exercises where we considered what connection means to us and the first time we realised we’re connected to the people who are different from us. We weaved our lines together to create a collaborative poem and ended the session with a collective artwork which is now displayed at The Place.
Life blood flowing
Connecting me to you
us to them
part of the crowd
in protest
in defiance
en masse
we are connected as one
energy sources flowing under the sun
repeated stories
shared glories
through your hands and your feet
connection runs deep
grounded in earth
connection is a
billion different rhythms
cold, distant waves melt
integrating heat rises
to attract each other
